About Me

I am a data scientist who is experienced in both business development and operations. I use my background experiences to inform customer-focused solutions by using machine learning techniques. My goal is to tell the story hidden in the data and to identify meaningful use cases.

When I am not in the office, you can find me out for a run preparing for the next running challenge or at a Dark Sky site with my family enjoying the wonders of the night sky.

For my Capstone Project at General Assembly, I am working on a machine learning model that will predict if a flight will be delayed and then will estimate by how long the delay will be. For a value added to the user, the flight delay will be expressed in terms of the user currency.

Using webscraping & Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, I developed a tool that could help an investment advisor combat their client's notions of positive investment returns on so-called 'meme-trades' primarily and almost exclusively made by users in the subreddit community 'r/wallstreetbets' (WSB).

We were challenged during the General Assembly Data Science Bootcamp with a group project where the only requirement was that our group's project had to have a 'social value'. In looking at the numerous problems available to solve, my team and I decided that we could help law enforcement by predicting a state's crime rate while avoiding the problems of racial bias with other AI-driven policing methods.
